Are your sessions in person or online?
All my sessions are virtual.
What are your office hours?
I see clients Monday through Thursday, with limited evening hours available.
How long is a typical session?
Anywhere from 45 to 90 minutes, depending on what’s needed.
What do I do to get started?
Give me a call. We’ll schedule a complimentary chat (about 20 minutes).
What is the hourly fee?
You can pay by the hour, but you shouldn’t! That’s the most expensive way to work with me. Ask me about my packages for the best savings.
How do I pay?
You can pay through Zelle transfer or credit card.
Do you accept insurance?
No. Insurance carriers don’t pay for relationship-focused therapy.
What is your cancellation policy?
I require 24 hours’ notice to cancel an appointment without penalty.
Otherwise, you’ll either lose a prepaid session, or you’ll be charged for the missed appointment.
What is a free initial phone consultation?
It’s an opportunity to discuss what you want and need and whether we’re the right fit for each other. It can be by phone or Zoom.
Who is your perfect client?
A client who’s willing to work and hold themselves accountable for change.
What age range do you work with?
I work with adults only.
Do you work with people from diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, and religions?
I’m Christian, but I welcome people of other faiths.
What can I expect in the first session?
The first session is about getting to know you in depth.
So, get ready for a lot of “nosy” questions. You can refuse to answer (but why would you if you really want help?).
What is therapy like with you?
It’s collaborative, warm, engaging, and sometimes hard.
How long will I be in therapy?
That depends on you. Some like it so much they stay. Others are in and out.
Do I have to tell you everything?
No, but it helps if you do.
Who benefits from therapy?
People who want to be helped.
Are you a Christian counselor?
Yes. I don’t do doctrinal counseling, but I take a faith-based approach for those who desire that.
Is our work confidential?
Absolutely!
Do couples fight in front of you?
Sometimes.
Do you take sides?
No. We all do things to screw our relationship up. It’s not gender-specific.
How long have you been in practice?
I’ve been working with clients for over 30 years, and I’ve been in private practice for 20+ years.
What are your strengths as a therapist?
I do more than just listen. That’s important, but I go way beyond giving support and encouragement. I give you change-making tools.
What do you enjoy about being a therapist?
I love seeing clients’ faces light up when they apply my tools and they work!
Have you been in therapy yourself?
Multiple times.
What is your educational background?
I have a master’s degree in counseling.
What is the best way to get in touch with you?
Call or email me.
Do you prescribe medications?
No.
Are you licensed?
Yes.
